Mount Tabor : Mount Tabor is the place where tradition holds that the Transfiguration happened. There is a monistary there now and the view is wonderful. This would have been a difficult climb for the Jesus and the Apostles. We had the opportunity to have most of the morning to pray at the top of the mountain before Mass and then lunch there.

Mount of Temptation : This is the place where tradition has it that Jesus was taken to overlook the kingdoms of the world and Jericho because it is an area that is green in the middle of the desert. There is a photo of the rock that tradition holds is where it happened. The top of the mountain is at sea level and we are looking down on the valley. At the bottom of the mountain was the opportunity to ride a camel which a few of us did.

Masada : Masada is a mountian top fortress. It is very large and there is only one road to get up to it. This road snakes around many parts of the hills and leaves someone who is trying to take the fortress very open to attack because the path is narrow. The Jewish people held the fortress for three years while being attacked by Romans who spent the three years building a ramp on the back side of the fortress. The views are incredible.
